MISS PENNSYLVANIA USA® 2009
Lindsey Nelsen is the 5’7” brown-eyed, 21 year-old daughter of Craig and Susan Nelsen of Stewartstown. Her hobbies are baton twirling, playing the piano, and taking her dogs to the lake. Lindsey volunteers for the Walk for the Cure and wild life animal rescue. She describes herself as determined, independent and classy. Her career ambition is to someday own a day spa.
The balance of the “Top 5” were: First Runner-up, Sarah Otey of Hershey; Second Runner-up, Gina Cerilli of Greensburg; Third Runner-up, Olivia Johnston of Mechanicsburg; and Fourth Runner-up, Amanda Jupena of Latrobe. The Semi-finalists were: Airin McClain of Coatesville; Misha Harrell of Harleysville; Angel Turlington of Springfield; Kristina Lippert of Moon Township; Yeliz Tuna of Dingmans Ferry; Courtney Blackhurst of Washington; Rachel Humerick of Shippensburg; Shauna Rice of Pittsburgh; Melissa Hindman of Philadelphia; Valerie Compeggie of Canonsburg.
Gina Cerilli was also named Miss Photogenic and Brittany Bureau of Latrobe was voted Miss Congeniality.
Crowned by LauRen Merola, MISS PENNSYLVANIA USA 2008, Lindsey Nelsen represented Pennsylvania at the MISS USA Pageant, which was held April 19, 2009 and broadcast live on NBC from the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
